Elaine Gilbert

Hello, I’m Elaine Gilbert, founder and Director of EGRecruiting.

My career in recruitment started many years ago, in 1984, before technology was used and us recruiters did everything the hard way! My initial training, although very hard, has proved invaluable over the years. During my 30+ years, I’ve had various roles in recruitment including Consultant, Branch Manager, Regional Support, Mentor, Permanent Development Manager and Auditor. My teams have worked across multiple recruitment divisions, mainly Commercial, Industrial and Catering, and this has given me exposure to multiple businesses and working environments.

Permanent recruitment has always been my passion; making a difference to the lives of our Candidates and influencing our Clients’ businesses. Technology does help us to be more efficient – however, recruitment is about people. It’s about giving time, listening, laughing and guiding; being honest and sharing knowledge, that’s what we do. Being available when things don’t turn out the way everyone wants them to and being there to celebrate when they do. It’s an amazing job and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

Although work consumes me, I do make time for the ‘other’ people in my life. With two teenagers and four cats, I can assure you that there’s never a dull moment!

Well hello! I am the ‘other’ Elaine who works here at EGRecruiting.
My greatest pleasure working as a HR & Resourcing Consultant is that I work with you – our Candidates and Clients.
Working closely with Elaine G, I provide a combined HR and recruitment experience for individuals, whether you are a Client looking for your new addition or a Candidate looking for your next opportunity.
I like to talk, so I am always on the phone – talking to you to find out everything I can about you as a person, the role and expectations of all concerned. If I cannot get hold of you, I will use email and SMS – it’s my mission to get hold of you to get you connected to the job or candidate of your dreams.
I have over 20 years of HR generalist experience within Manufacturing, Retail and Marine Insurance industries, which has given me a great understanding of people and business. Working at all levels, from Personnel Officer through to HR Manager, I have delivered a comprehensive HR service to all businesses I have worked with.
My journey to EGRecruiting was initially borne out of a business relationship with Elaine Gilbert, as I was her Client. She shared my values and I liked the way she worked. Many successful placements were made due to her skill and expertise, plus the involvement of a great HR Manager – me!
Spare time? What’s that? Living with a husband, two boys and two dogs in an all-male household, I am well and truly outnumbered and there is never a spare minute. As you would expect, football plays a big part in our family. With two goal keepers, I am frequently seen on the side-lines supporting my boys – or cleaning the house!
